My dear Aunt
Many thanks for the papers you send me from time to time, it is a proof that you don't forget your friends if they are a long way off. As ?? I am very lazy * have three ?? fencing & two ?? the timber on the land that I have to improve. I have done a lot fo work for ?? & now am ??
far it is so hard to get men who are able to do the ?? one has on hand Jenja ?? a young man to ?? a few days ago he went off to get his swag &c & the next day I got a note to say 25/- per week & his ?? were not enough he could make more & as he did not come, & so now I have to hunt them my self, I am not living with my brother & his wife now, she irritates me too much, & so I am
?? by myself in a cottage about ¼ of a mile from the old house, I feel much happier & contented.
My sister Amy has invited me to stay with them before I leave WA for a couple of weeks & to go into Albany to spend a few days in that town with them. I shall also stay with Granny a short time.
I must now conclude with love to Robert, & Fanny & fond love to you dear Aunt from your loving Nephew
Gerald E Hester
