First Australian Gliding Certificate
From ArchivesWiki
The Gliding Club of Victoria was founded in 1929, however there was no certification of their pilots at the time. Early members had spent several years lobbing The Aero Club Federation of Australia for certification. This came to fruition in late 1947 and Gliding Club of Victoria Secretary Richard "Dick" Duckworth submitted the credentials of their pilots for certification.
Who would get number one was random, and it went to Leo Bernard Dowling. Below are scans of the certificate booklet.
