My dear Mrs Aubrey
Thanks much for yr kind wishes other ? things very good but I didn’t ? after the little ? tho’ there is a bit of money attatched (sic) to him we glad you had a good ?(day’s) ?(down) I thought of you several times & wondered how Margaret was. I say isn’t it good that the rain Aubrey ? today & say 56 pts at Andover and ?(Laccern) Woodbrook, Harding Race is ?(Bacuboo) pool 3 ? days, also Murrys Creek though paddocks gave it ?(Cessecs) up the worry Alick isn’t quite fixed up yet. But I think everything is in the right ? to it I wonder if Aubrey will entertain the idea about this job. Hope soon to hear. I shall miss Alick dreadfully, he has done so much about the place & helped me in the different jobs. He ? must have know he was home ? it thought fit to “dust up” the ? I gave him ?(if) message he sends his love to you & thanks you I hope his marriage turns out well Those things are a risk aren’t they Sometimes we strike oil but mostly snags. However time will tell.
Strange I succeeded ? to Mrs Lodge by Jack to ask her to come up to us in a couple of weeks as Jack told us she ? & was ill poor old soul, she has a lot to do on her own, but now you & J? are home she can come away & ? ?(with) may be sure we will do what we can to make her comfie, & I’m very glad you wrote to me about her, for goodness sake lets be? ? not only just the word ? of ? business in ?(Ann) ?(feeling) a bit ?(I…) ? ?(g…) all day & ? days are days as ? ?(B…) ? making cakes & puddings & Alick getting a new ?(separator) my whack out of a cow sold one we ?(rea…) We shall miss Jack but he ? & ?
