Nor'-West Times, 9 September 1893:[1]
Mr. John McRae, of the firm of McRae and Pearse, pearlers, who has been in fast declining health for many months, was a passenger for South by tho Australind. We are informed that Mr. McRae's case is so critical that he has gone South as a last resource. It is to be hoped the change of climate and good medical treatment and careful nursing will pull him safely through.
Died aged "about 43" in Fremantle at 6AM on 14 September 1893.[2][3]
