RAAF Sergeant-Pilot. Home on leave in August 1944.[1]

Died in August 1945:[2]

Mr and Mrs C. H. Hammond, of Carnarvon, this week received the sad news that their elder son, Flying Officer Robert Meath Hammond, of the RAAF, had been killed in an aircraft accident whilst on active service. The deceased leaves a widow and two small children to mourn his death. Our deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives.

Two years later:[3]

IN MEMORIAM. HAMMOND.—(F/O. Robert Meath)—In loving memory of our dear brother and uncle, killed, July 30th, 1945, loved brother of Rex, brother-in-law of Thelma and Uncle of Peter.
