"Mid-1945, Constable L.C. Fletcher alerted Bray to the impending closure of six pastoral stations in the Pilbara": Abydos, Woodstock, Kangan, Yandyarra, Mount Satirist and Bilga. "Fletcher gave no reason for the closure of these stations but the district had suffered a prolonged drought."[1]
