Member of the Hill family of Paulton 1843
The 1st John Hill of Paulton, who died about the year 1739 in May, had 3 sons and 1 daughter. This daughter married a Samborne Palmer of Finsbury by whom she had 1 daughter. This daughter married Mr Milward, Solicitor of Reynham whose monument is now in Paulton Church. The 3 sons also married. Joseph the eldest married Miss Kitty Langford of Dunford, Funsbury, sister to the old Mr Langford, a farmer of Dunford, by whom they had only one child. Joseph the old Esqr[?] of Paulton who married Miss Saunders, who was the mother of the present John Hill Esqr[?] (John)[?] and his [illegible] two sisters now living, Elizabeth & Julia. The other 2 brothers married two sisters by the name of Ames and a Miss [illegible]
