Dear Aubrey

Glad to hear the goods arrived safely. There was nothing to pay I was pleased to be able to help you J.T. Mcoular[?]  not charge for taking them to the wharf, nor would Frank Borfer[?]  charge for taking the mangle down John the Greek helped me to load and unload and would not charge. I tried to pay all three of them but they all refused to take money so you do not owe anything, so a few people feel kindly towards us yet. Your information about the Shakespeare Strong marrige and the Hall coat of arms is quite correct I find there are five Hall coats of arms in the green book but I cannot find what Joy wants. I am not Shylock looking for his pound of flesh from Joy or your self so leave it as it is. I am quite satisfied. The Banks have no family they are nice people. There was a middle aged man talking to me in Cossack.

Yes Mrs Hill seems a very well informed woman I told her what I could but the time was short. Mrs Dr Kenny[?]  introduced us. I am pleased to hear Helen and the girls won prince[?]  at the show, it is a good thing you have plenty of vegetables and eggs.

I did not mean you had taken any thing out of the house I thought you might know where they were placed, sorry the carved shell was broken the packing I put in would I thought have saved them, must have been handled very roughly. Had I thought you would wished to keep the wardrobe I would not have sold it at all, glad you received £7 safely. Yes I will get the journals and Mr Wellards letter to our Father back.

I will look for the sketches you mention.

Love to you all and Joan xxxxxxxxx
