Munda Station Pt Hedland 17/5/40
To Mr E. Hall Cossack
Dear Erney
I am trying to get as much information as possible regarding the earliest pioneers of the North West, and I will be much obliged to you if you will find time to drop me a line giving what you know of earliest[?] day pioneers / Such as first publicans[?] in Cossack &
2/
Roebourne, first pearlers, first pastoralists etc. I am not sure how old you are, but I was born in 1864 & came to Cossack on 17th April 1879 two days before Billy Cook. You will know more about this matter than any man living today. I trust you will be good enough to let me know Trusting this finds you O.K. & wishing you the best.
I am yours sincerely
R.L. Mackay
