Dear Aubrey,
God bless you all, may long life and prosperity be your lot. It does me good to hear the old Xmas chants and hymns again what a terrible out of the way place that ? west is, it makes us long to get away from it altogether. I see by the reports in the paper that the weather has been much cooler since we left, it is quite cold down here & between Geraldton and ? there were several showers of rain on our way down. – The ?(fruit) ?(man) is in, is not worth sending up, it would be alright if you could get it in the condition it is ?(now), but it would not carry – I have asked the Chief Steward of the “Sultan” to drop you and me on her way back from Singapore. If he delivers what I ordered, there should be enough for yourselveves – Henry and, ?(Naish). If it cost anything G.P.O. Melbourne will find me. I have seen Sholl, he does not mind a bit about ?(Grimwich or Grimwade*)’s affair. My wife joins me in kindest regards & best wishes to you all.
Yours sincerely
A.C. Gillam
