My dear Shakespeare

Mr Stewart has been staying with us for a day or two on account of some business he had to settle & he wished me to let you & Henry know that they are all quite well & deeply sympathize with us all in our sad loss He had a letter from one of the Middletons, they are still at Pinjarrah & not doing much good. Stewart’s crops have turned out extremely well, the old gentleman seems better than he did in the summer, they are very anxious to see you & Henry & hope when practible you will pay them a visit. We are very well & at present losing every day, I fear we shall hardly make a living on Bendigo. Is it not strange that I did not hear from Papa or any of the rest by the two last mails? I almost fear he must be laid up & cannot write. I wish one of you were down there. I shd think Letitia could manage to be with him. We all send love & kisses & think it long till we see you. King (& T H) has gone to the Mackleford rush. The new Paper has started & it is liked very well. God bless you my dear brother.

Ever your affectionate

Sister Sarah

Mrs Jones has been very ill & had dead Twins. It is reported that Mrs Chisholm is dying at Kyneton. I shall send some Papers by this Post. I wrote a few days since to Henry. Goodbye my dear S.
