My Very dear Brother
No doubt ere this you have recd a note from me directed to Kyneton & one from George ditto to Melbourne. We are about the same as when you left & I am thankful to add pretty well only slight colds & sore throats. Fanny [?& others] of [...].
May your voyage be very pleasant & prosperous & every blessing follow you in your progress through this life till you arrive in that place where […] trouble & disappointment shall be no more then I hope we may meet to part no more for ever. I am very sorry you have been so long detained, it seems to us as tho’ you ought to be nearly at your journey’s end instead of just starting.
Geo purposed writing to Henry this mail but I think he has forgotten, he has been writing to his sister Fanny who is very ill & sent her his likeness per post the same size as the one you have for [? 3/- ?5/-]. I was anxious to hear from Aunt before your departure but have not. I hope some of you will hear from me next Mail.
Geo’s Father has written very kindly to me & he says at the suggestion of Aunt Amelia sent Fanny the Illustrated L News & intends to continue it weekly or monthly. Fanny has written to him with thanks for same. Mr B Senr feels deeply […] at his son’s unkind […] letter & tells me he […] […] reply to it but will leave him to his own reflection. Geo says he shall do the same, so I fear things will not be very amicable between them. I hope G will see fit to act as becomes a Christian child towards an aged parent. We all unite in [?love] & kisses. The Tullochs have been to spend the day & are well & wish you the best of luck, so do the Bradshaws. [?Kate] says of course you will go & see them when you return here en route for the Snowy River, by the bye very discouraging news from there & I hope you may be better off than you wd be by going there to seek your wife or your fortune
Yours ever affectionately
Sarah
Stevenson has lent Geo half his ground to garden so […] he is busy digging to put in Potatoes. God bless you my dear Brother.
