My dear Sister

I fear I have lost a mail & am very very sorry, but indeed it was quite unavoidable.

I enclose in this a post office order for ten pounds (£10) you must give your Xtian name in getting it cashed at the Post Office.

There are so many strangers coming to WA now that houses cannot be found to accommodate them altho’ new buildings are being run up everywhere I am afraid of my rent being raised beyond my means & I could not get a smaller house I fear. It would be serious on account of Leslie’s education which could not be completed in the country where I suppose houses would be cheaper, however we must do the best we can and trust in a kind providence.

I hope your health continues good and that your good son and daughter are both well and prospering.

I do not know whether your sister sends you papers from this Colony would you like some when there is anything interesting in them?

I am sorry I could not send the money sooner but at the same time most thankful to be able to do so now and I hope you will receive it without any trouble.

With our united kind love to you and Fanny and best regards to Mr Bracher.

I remain

Yours Affecately

Dora A Hall

I was afraid of missing this mail & went to get the order without taking your written address & I forgot it was Kangaroo Flats so the order is payable at Sandhurst — perhaps it is safer passing through fewer hands, & I hear Kangaroo Flats is only a mile from Sandhurst so I hope it will not be inconvenient to you

Jany 29th Mrs Carey had another son this morning at 6 o’clock. Everything is I believe satisfactory with Baby & Mother Mr Carey’s health has failed greatly lately

Yours Affecately D Hall
