Here I am my dear sister at another rush, knocked hither & thither like a shuttle-cock, Taylor & self have been here three weeks and are doing a little better. Shake & Turner are still at Pleasant Creek. I have to acknowledge your letter of 10th of May also Aunt’s do: and my brother wrote me there was a letter advertised for me in the Govt Gazette after some trouble I obtained it and found it was from our father. I suppose he had heard from you we had removed to Ararat — curious enough with that letter I obtained an Examiner newspaper from you of 26th Feby, they were stuck together. Taylor thanks you for his letter. For no female acquaintance have I such a profound esteem as for Mrs Smithers, I am glad to hear of her. I know you will be glad to get fuller tidings of our poor departed mother. I shall send the original to Shake — by hand. Kind remembrances to George and the family

Your affect brother
