Today the descendants of some of WA's oldest pioneer families will meet for a remembrance ceremony at the historic East Perth cemetery. Then they will have afternoon tea at Mrs. Eileen H.O. Elliott's Adelaide Tce. home.
Mrs. Elliott traces back to pioneer days through both Hall and Hester families.
One of her guests will be Mrs. Helen Hall, widow of Aubrey Hall, who died this year at 95.
Mrs. Hall is a member of the Leake family, who came to the colony in 1829, while her late husband was a grandson of Henry Edward Hall, who, in October 1829, chartered the ship Protector, and sailed for WA with his young wife, six children, a carpenter, a wheelwright, a blacksmith, two servants, six apprentice boys and livestock ranging from 38 sheep to 18 hunting dogs.
