My dear Sister

I am sorry to say poor Henry does not improve as I hoped he would when the cool weather set in, we cannot get fresh meat or proper change of food for him here I wish he could have gone to see you I think it would have re-established his health completely but he said he could not bear the journey.

Many thanks for the corn flour & cocoa unfortunately he can take so little of any thing every thing seems too heavy. We must also thank you and Mr Hester for the flour we shall be very glad of it I am sure it will be more wholesome than the fine flour we are using, all the Doctors agree in saying silk dressed flour is bad. Please give my love to dear Frances and best wishes I hope I shall soon hear good news from her I am sure she will make a good mother and I hope she will be a happy one.

Tuckey could not bring the flour last time they did not know of it they said, till they had loaded but they went up again today & have promised to bring it this time.

Leslie has written to Jessica, as he could not get away after his dreadful illness on account of his Father's illness I gave him no lessons till quite lately so he is not a good letter writer yet. Your Brother is so dreadfully thin you would be quite shocked could you see him I pray he may get better soon

Excuse haste

Yours affectionately

D A Hall

Mrs Hester
