Dear Sir,
I arrived here from Roebourne WA four weeks ago and am desirous of obtaining your kind assistance in a small matter with which I am connected.
See Sing & Co of Roebourne a Chinese firm of good repute, are making certain requests, the import which, you will gather from the copies of communications forwarded to the Secretary Home & Interiors Dept. The copies I enclose.
Having been employed by that firm as Secretary I was

asked to do all I could on bringing the matter to a successful issue.
In this I am handicapped as I intended getting a letter of introduction to you from Mr G.F. Egan of the "Northern Times" Carnarvon. The steamer did not stay there long enough for me to visit the town. Being now with no means of getting a personal interview, where I could state my requirements in a few moments, I have to resort to this means, a means I know which does not find favour with Gentlemen in your position.
