Born on 12 June 1823 to John and Sarah Glidden, and christened on 27 October 1825 at St Andrew, Holborn in London.[1]
She married George Walpole Leake in September 1850, while he was in Adelaide studying law.[2]
South Australian Gazette and Mining Journal, 7 September 1850:[3]
MARRIED—On the 6th instant, at Trinity Church, by the Rev. John Watson, George Walpole Leake, Esq., of this city, and late of Western Australia, to Rose Ellen, youngest daughter of the late John Gliddon, Esq., solicitor, London.
They moved to Perth,[4] Western Australia not long after getting married.[2] They had seven daughters and two sons[4] (or maybe only eight all up?[2]).
She was an invalid for many years[4] and died on 21 February 1888.[5] George went on to re-marry three years later (with whom he had another daughter).[2]
