Dear Murray,

Margaret has asked me to write you this as she is looking after my children at the moment and there is no post office handy to our home. She has been very generous — Alan is just having his first holidays since we came south, and she and we have exchanged homes for the weekend. It is very pleasant for us, and just the sort of thing Marg would think of. Joan's engagement was in Saturday's paper. She was terribly lucky — was sent to Adelaide unexpectedly over a week end on escort duty and was able to see Geoff. You'd hardly know Judith these days — she has grown so, and is improved in all ways since her operation. Marg looks well and very pretty — has a new perm and a new grey and white dress which suits her very well. She always seems busy, one way and another — she remarked taht she must do all her "good deeds" now, as when you come home she is going to be completely unavailable to anybody else. Oh Murray, it is my dearest wish that that can be very soon. Hope you're fit and well.

Very affectionately

C Berryman
