My dear Murray,

Have just had a ring from Margaret ?? your a/g and telling of your promotion. Grand, dear! Am delighted to learn it. It will be good news to hand on to Rae, we are hoping to see her tomorrow with any luck. Just had a letter from C.M.W. referring to a grand one he had received from you. He is greatly pleased with your interest in politics.

Rae gave them a great surprise when she rang them on 7th I had not written them since knowing that she was coming home. Hope by the time you receive this, that you have quite recovered from your little op. & that you are now able to enjoy all that comes your way to the full, dear, anything of that nature is very uncomfortable to say the least of it. Loved your two letters, received last week, I do try not to worry & will do as you say & forget the matter, but when you ?? ?? be able to adjust things. Do not forget to write a/g & let me know where I can cable that present. Hope you receive the parcel with the sox etc.

With all my love, take care of yourself,

Yours ever, Mother.
