Born in 1918 in Perth.[1] Enlisted in the Navy aged 15 (c.1933) according to family records.[2] Navy personnel number 5'8½", light brown hair.[3] Official commencement 1 June 1938.[3] Ships: HMAS Vendetta, HMAS Canberra, Penguin, Moresby, Leeuwin, and Sydney.[3]

No. 22157, Herbert Bruce Wilson, ordinary seaman, born 1/12/18, 5ft. 8½in., fair complexion, light-brown hair, hazel eyes.
Died 3 August 2005, aged 86, buried at Karrakatta (same plot as Iris, but his side of the grave stone is blank).[5]
