Madge Louise "Lulu" Clifton was the daughter of Joy Hannah Emma Margaret Clifton (née Hall) and Gervase Clifton, born on 14 February 1906.[1]

She and her sisters attended Perth College.[2]

The Daily News on their wedding day:[5]

Whirlwind romance between Perth VAD and an English naval officer will culminate with a full naval wedding tonight.

She is Miss Louise Clifton, youngest daughter of Mrs Joy Clifton and the late Gervasse Clifton. Bride groom is Lieut.-Engineer J. B. L. Gilmore, R.N.
