Parents were Dr Edward[1] (or Robert[2]) Bruce and Helen Bruce (née Graham).[2] Born in Fremantle.[2]
Married James in 1874, when she was 18.[3][4]
Henry Drake, in an obituary for Teesdale:[5]
…one dreadful night when his wife, then a young woman and before the death of her first husband, Mr. Hall, was forced to crouch for long hours with a baby clasped to her breast and two toddlers clinging to her skirts, staring with horror-stricken eyes at the pillaging of her home by yelling blacks. Her husband was in Roebourne; earlier in the day she had seen their white stockman speared; but she stumbled out with her little family into those cruel and stony hills and valiantly set out for help.
Married Frederick Teesdale on 30 March 1893 in Roebourne[1] (after James died; Lillian was 30[2]); they had no children.[6]
Died aged 73 on 21 June 1929, buried at Karrakatta.[2][7]
